These Shoes

In these shoes, I walk
I run, I work, I live.
In these shoes, I am
Myself and no one else.

With these shoes I strut,
I prance, dance, skip, stand.
With these shoes I can
Put one foot n front the other.

I walk like I own these shoes,
I dance like I belong n these shoes,
I run like I am one with these shoes,
And I kneel and I pray n these shoes.

In these shoes, I speak my mind
In these shoes, I tell the truth
In these shoes, I can always find
My way back to you.

These shoes keep me sane
These shoes lead me straight
These shoes may be plain
But these shoes, they are mine.

In these shoes I stomp
In these shoes I defend
These shoes are trusty
They are my favorite friend.

In these shoes I walk
Like I own them
Belong in them
Walk like I am one in prayer with them.

Me and these shoes,
We share a soul.
Though I may fall on my journey
I can always pick myself back up

. . . in these shoes
