These Tight Strings

I should be more tired than I am

and I'm surprised I haven't broken down by now

I give and give

and though I don't expect anyting in return

it never comes.

It would be so easy to give up

but my wires can't snap that easily

and waiting on someone's grace

is part of the glue that keeps me tethered.
