These voices lulling words given

These voices lulling words given to each From here to stone walls Greyhound hours away And formless phone lines taut directions reach Reverberations bound to twist and fade. Just screens and sounds that stud and perforate Reshaping words to images unknown A distant second to communicate But distance does this distance fair condone. We take the few, the far, the in between For prizes earned by photographs mistook. And in the pause outlast the reconvene Till broken pictures over-write the book. But where to turn but to this same strange voice For lurking lacking pictures worser choice.
