These Walls
This nation is closing in
The borders are suffocating
The immigrants have to leave
But, why?
Isn't this the land of the free?
These people just want to breathe.
So open the gates
Ignore all the hate
and let God determine their fate

Abstract political/philosophical argument about immigration and freedom with personal emotional stakes.
Dense packing of ideas: borders, suffocation, immigrants, freedom, breath, gates, hate, fate.
Predominantly negative (closing, suffocating, have to leave, hate) with hopeful plea at end.
Urgent, forceful language; rhetorical question; imperative commands; visceral imagery of suffocation.
Nine lines; falls in 7-15 line range (compact but not micro).
Metaphors (borders suffocating, land of free), personification (nation closing in), some ornament.
Primarily lyric internal voice with rhetorical address; edges toward dramatic protest stance.
