These Words
One word
Tremble
Flash back
Weak knees
The memories overtake
Can’t get it out of my mind for goodness sake
Encrypting every piece
For it’s because of this I’m weak to my knees
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But words shall never hurt me
I can sing that in different tones
But the past is always weary
Bruises fade
With that thoughts vanish
But the words act as a blade
I will forever want to be banished
I was young
Five, ten, thirteen
Doesn’t matter how long
The pain couldn’t be foreseen
A couple syllables
Gives me flashbacks
I was miserable
The thought of a quality I truly lack
Encrypted in my soul
Glued to my memory
Doesn’t matter how old
That word is my enemy
Whether it be
Dumb, annoying, ugly, fat or insignificant
It’s the present I’m in, but the past has scarred me
And it will continue, for the years being infinite
These words don’t define me as a person
I am greater than a few constantans and vowels
It was given by people I had not chosen
I mean something great, not foul
These words have scarred me
These words have led to the suffering of every part of my body
These words have stomped on my mentality
But these words do not define me
