They
They never knew
just how much I hurt
and they never knew
just how bad I felt
They only knew
that they were in control
that I was weak and suffered through it all
They never cared
how many tears I cried
and they never cared
that all they said were lies
All they cared
was that in the end they won
that I was alone and had nowhere to run
They didn't know that they were breaking my heart
they only knew that I was falling apart
They didn't care if I was afraid
they only cared that they made me that way
I want them to see
that my weakness made me strong
and I want them to know
that they were always wrong
I found a way to be better than I've been
and to guard my heart so it never breaks again
