They and I

there are the pans and the hets and the homos
but no others like me, no others
to talk to about the unfairness and the injustice
no one to complain irrationally to and have them just
understand

and sometimes thats okay because
they are them and they are wonderful
and i am me and i am fine
we are all more than those labels,
more than the categories we are grouped into

and sometimes its not okay because
they are them and they don't get it
and i am me and i am alone.
