They Didn't Forget

Eleven years ago, in the beauty of the morning
The land was stricken with an undeniable quake
A breach in the skin, a scratch it couldn’t itch.
The world watched as two powers fell.
Fires gave birth to a demon ridden sky.
Family, sons, daughters, dragged away from our world
Finding themselves mortared for what justice?
Afraid they’d forgotten…

Eleven years ago, amongst the dusted rubble
A city stood up, and a country grabbed hands.
A nation raised their fist together.
Despite the pain, the loss, the attacks, and hate
America found a reason to believe.
Once again, the free found justice.
Now on the day we lost family, friends and fellow Americans,
Don’t forget what happened today, September 11th.
