They Judge My Friends
A noble soul
But not really at all
He proclaims the fall
Of the hypocrisy foretold
Yea it’s getting old
Revolution in two fold
They thought they hit the gold
But that stuff’s just for fools to hold
They judge a life
And what it’s worth
I see eye to eye
Or I try to I’m not perfect
All their alibis
They thought they knew all since their birth
All grew wings to fly
But these uglies were no birds
They were words
That hurt
Haven’t you heard
Their dirt
I ain’t with the herd
So stay alert
Love the Word
But no expert
Trying to make it with my friends
So what if we’re off please don’t offend
Excuse me don’t use me
I’m not much one to pretend
We’re gonna make it to the end
Not on our last strings like they penned
But thriving out of the blue
Just doing what we do
Their plans for us to fall fail
Victorious the holy grail
