They Never Told Me
They never told me
They never told me about the sleepless nights
They never told me about the gut wrenching feelings
They never told me about the pain
They never told me that my estrogen emotion was different than your testosterone
They never told me that I would lose my mind into you
They never told me I would care for you more than I care for myself
They never told me about love…
Sleepless nights worrying … if you have me on your left temple
Like…I…Have…You
Daydreaming thinking about us, when you’re thinking about her
Pushing aside my plans for you, while you say yes to all of your plans, except for bootycall hours. Then I’m all yours huh???
It being as easy as you saying sorry to get me back, knowing that the cheating and beating is continuous.
Eleven whole years for you to leave me for a white woman
I thought I was all you needed
I Thought I Was All You Needed
I THOUGHT I WAS ALL YOU NEEDED?
Did my breast get saggy?
Was my butt too flat?
Was my hair to ugly, or too short?
Or did I need to live up to the trend, long hair don’t care?
Was I not enough?
But my God tells me I am
I was fearfully and wonderfully made
I’m going to invest my mind and soul back into the Lord.
Even though I put man ahead of my Lord 1 to many times
He’s never left me though
Wait… my man wants me back
I’ll go to church next Sunday…
They never told me my life would be easy
But this is my decision, an I want him
So, even though he hurts me…..
Imma give him 150,000 chances
He won’t do it again
He said he loved me, and would never hurt me again
They never told me that this thing called love would make me blind and stupid
They never told me that his genitals, I would become a slave to
I..HAVE…BECOME…YOUR…SLAVE
AND…YOU…ARE…MY…MASTER
But know one comes before God
Cause…
Cause…
Cause…
He made it simple for us to follow the commandments
But I was so disobedient, that I gave a dog my temple rather than my husband
I abused myself
I disobeyed
So I will be your side chick, baby mama, ho, slut, whore
BECAUSE I AM TRAPPED
They never told me tho…
