They Said.

They said it was diabetes After the hospital visits and unexplained sickness They said it was diabetes even with the insulin pumping in your veins and the finger pricking everyday You still weren't getting any better So what could it be? The results came back in a deadly form Pancreatic cancer stage 4 But they said it was diabetes Isnt it their job to know? They said six months But little did they know you would fight for two long years You fought long and hard but it ended all the same And in mid October when the day finally came The year and a half they didn't say When all we did was sit and wait the first time I saw my brother cry Only 13 I was too young to realize But I am old enough now to know that I miss you Maybe it wouldn't hurt so bad if what they said was ever true Yet we still give infinite amounts to their research and tests We all know there is no profit in a cure.
