They Say Life

Life. They say so, don’t they?

Fools in their letters.

Impossible mist. Ignition. Flowers.

Graham crackers moist with windows and they say life. The world

outside. The way it used to be.

Evening and the black striped slipcover and the silver light leaves flitting

across Amen and Amen again.

Life. Fitful dreams, solve my puzzles,

scatter the pieces. Eyes wink.

Life. They say. They say, they say, they say again.
