They Strived

Some things were left a mystery,
Wounds were placed in hearts,
As they waved to the departs,
From 13 colonies to 50 states,
They strived not knowing their fates,
Families and friends waited in toil,
As blood and tears fertilized the soil,
Oceans to oceans were traveled,
Hundreds of battles were unraveled,
But bravely they fought,
And victory was eventually sought.

My name is Vanessa and I was born on September 26. My favorite sport is baseball/softball and I play volleyball and also cheer. I am and will forever remain the biggest Colorado Rockies fan. My favorite color is purple, and I believe McDonalds is the greatest restaurant ever invented. I am absolutely in love with Starbucks Mocha Frappes. Avocados disgust me and my biggest fears is butterflies....it's called lepidopterophobia. I love music & mainly listen to rock (preferably Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Paramore). I like (okay, LOVE) to take pictures & write poems. My favorite show is Criminal Minds. :) School is my pride and joy. I am class ranked number one with a composite ACT score of twenty six. I pride myself in being one the best student athletes in our school. My baby sister is the most important thing in my life. January 31st changed my life. I love her more than anything. I would die for her. I couldn't live without her dramatic personality. When I leave her for college she is going to keep a piece of my heart with her. I do not plan to live forever, I am willing and ready to meet Christ in Heaven. I'm catholic & obvs love God! I've learned through a number of tough lessons that things in life aren't as hard as they seem at the time & that I can and will continue to do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
