They/Them

I am not “he,”

I am “they.”

“Are you male or female?”

I’d rather not say.

I am not “sir,”

I am “Mx.”

“There’s something in you that’s broken”

There’s nothing to fix.

Do not call me “man,”

For I am not

“You don’t exist”

That battle’s been fought.

Don’t reach below my waist

There’s nothing for you to touch.

I’m nonbinary,

and I expect you to address me as such.

This is just a bit of a vent about my gender identity
