Thick and Thin

An influential person to me is my mother

she cares for me and is teaching me how to become a strong black woman

and preaching  me the ways on how to survive

She is teaching me the fundamentals of life

Teaching me how to be a better student, a better person, and overall a better me...

Through depression, oppression, and aggression I know that my mother will never leave me and that she will always be there for me

"like mother, like daughter" or so the saying goes

My mother sees the Pros in all situations but she also unveils the Cons, which is a skill not many can obtain nowadays, you see

So determined to discover  what will I learn next only mother knows

Throughout my short life-span, I have come to the realization that there are new and beautiful things that occur every day but there are unexpected surprises that challenge us by never knowing  when we will be affected

She is teaching me how to become a better student, a better person, and a better me

And a better me equals a better you

because I am the future

Now as I am I fade into my conscious and fall  into my earth of dreams

but right now my brain, heart, mind, and body is bursting at the seams...
