Thick Black Brows

Fri, 02/13/2015 - 21:39 -- vpgopal

i used to shudder when i looked in the mirror

all i could see were

those thick

black

brows

so when you say “remember when eyebrows were just eyebrows”

i say that eyebrows were never just eyebrows for little brown girls with

those thick

black

brows

just like her father

for that little girl who tried to pull her fuzz off with scotch tape

those thick

black

brows

that made that little brown girl more brown

more foreign.

until suddenly “strong eyebrow game”

and now

my thick

black

brows

are beautiful

and when i look in the mirror

my thick

black

brows

are part of me i can count on

and my thick

black

brows

still make me more brown

but finally,

i love it.
