The Thief
The petty thief shallowly pants
as he watches the cave entrance,
his way to safety and demise.
The cave is cold and damp,
exhausted with stalactites and stalagmites.
He curls up miserably,
embracing the satchel in his arms,
containing priceless gold and jewels.
He risks holding his breath as a soldier passes by.
Despite his self-control, he shrieks.
With this, both his career and life, are over.
