The Thief's Defeat

Anguish and fury fuse, becoming one,

Life has been stolen, but not with a gun.

Defeat was the weapon, fatigue the crook,

that carried away my sunny outlook.

For a moment, it seems the thief has won,

but I am a child of God's only Son.

This robber seeks to kill, steal and destroy,

my Father gives life lavishly, and with joy!

The bandit can strive, for years, if he likes,

but he won't succeed, in this I delight.

My Father possesses power to spare,

so when the crook strikes, I will not despair.

God will soon stop the thief, and dry all tears,

so I'll keep rejoicing, snubbing my fears.
