Into Thin Air
My dreams taunt as my body faces defeat
I wish to discard it, become the elite
My only feeling is the pressure in my head
Of a dream that’s starving, that needs to be fed
A white demon, an abyss for its eyes
Hooks into my skin and tears my disguise
I have no vision save the sight of my home
Among the corpses, in the white foam
Further and further, I move through the sleet
All with my limbs, falling to my feet
My body a vessel, divest to the bone,
My fate a fury, written in stone
Like a bell ringing in my head
The less I find air, the deeper I tread
A single drop of this feverish lust
My only drive as I turn into rust
All for the motion, all for the soul
I’ve lost myself and found but a role
In my last step, no words to be said
We are eternal, but long since dead
