The Thing Is...

I'm falling...
No wings.
No chute.
No trampoline to break a landing.
I look in your eyes
I see things unspeakable
A future I once thought to be unreachable.
But my window is closing.
A raindrop falls from the sky.
And just as it reaches its destination.
I'm here.
Trying to bring restoration.
I've said things.
You've been mad.
We've been honest.
Some things bad.
But see...
The thing is...
I'm falling.
Little do I understand...
You were underestimated.
Castles in the sand...
The last thing I would wish for.
I'm just hoping we could kiss or...
Forget.
But see...
The thing is...
I'm falling.
Regretful words left my mouth.
From there it went south.
Apologies through written words
Forgiveness is unlikely.
Know that the harm I've caused will cease to exist.
I'm sorry.

But see, the thing is...

I've fallen, and I don't wanna get up.
