The Thing I Need Which is Like No Other

In my life there are many things I could do without

But there is one thing that will always be there when I'm in need

You might think you know exactly what I'm talking about

But it is no material item like my iPhone or weed.

No, me I like to stay on the straight and narrow,

Though temptations pester constant at my subconscious

The one thing I need is what keeps me from the gallow

It puts my mind at ease when people are obnoxious.

I truly need one thing like no other,

and yes that one thing is my loving mother.

In times of need she is there to support me,

When I'm in trouble she's my knight in shining armour.

Even when we are apart we are together you see,

For she lives inside where no one can harm her.

Although she is seldom by my side,

Its her I know I can go to when I cry.

Without her love and support my life is in drought,

She is the mighty redwood and I am her seed.

Oh how I wish that I could tell her about,

How much she really means to me.

But it's difficult when she is always hiding under cover,

My one, my only, my loving mother.
