To that thing that kills someone everyday
Dear Hate,
They tell us not to say
Your name.
“It’s too strong a word,”
They say,
“Use dislike instead.”
But I can’t.
I mean, you’re
Everywhere.
Attacks here,
Shootings there.
Deaths, injuries,
Kidnappings, corruptions
And explosions.
All in the name
Of your cause.
A pointless cause,
Might I add.
I mean, what would anyone
Get out of it?
There is no satisfaction,
There is no gratification.
At the end of the day,
Your players are beaten down
And empty inside.
Have you heard about
The sunken refugee ship
In the Mediterranean Sea?
Your probably have.
It was a group of your disciples
Who deliberately shot
Holes in the side of a ship.
A ship full of people trying to escape you!
Don’t feel too proud because
What you don’t
Know is that nine people
Survived.
So what?, you may say
Nine out of five hundred?
Those numbers are pretty good
For you.
But they are also good
For me.
I mean, nine people
Beat you.
They won.
They overcame the struggle.
They overcame you!
So, here’s the thing:
You’re losing.
The more people
You seduce with
Your spiteful word,
With your destructive gospel.
The more you draw in,
The more reject you.
For every five hundred refugees you kill,
Nine live to tell their story.
To tell others of how
They beat the dragon,
How they beat the monster,
How they beat the antagonist.
You’re losing, Hate,
So you might as well
Just give up now.
