The Thing You Hear

The little thing inside you The thing that gives you second thoughts The thing that tells you what to do The thing they call your conscience It sits on your shoulder watching over you It keeps you from doing wrong It tells you to think about the after effect It’s the thing that tells you to keep going It’s in your heart, mind, and soul It will be with you till the very end Through thickness and thin, good times and bad It’ll never leave you even if you think it has The something inside, there for you to listen to The voice you hear is smarter than you think The thing inside you is more familiar than you think That thing inside of you is more like you than you think That is because the thing you hear is well… you
