Things Are Gonna Get Better

Everyday when I wake up ,

I tell myself that things are gonna get better.

When I get a good grade on a test or a homework assignment,

I think to myself that things are gonna get better.

When I be myself around new people and they joke and laugh with me,

I try to remind myself that things are gonna get better.

Whenever i’m around my mother.

I just hope and pray,

that things are gonna get better.

As I fit these five precious words on my thumb,

My index,

My middle,

My ring

And my pinky finger,

I laugh to myself cause my fingers are small

And its going to be awhile until they get bigger,

I look at these words and smile and I just figure;

That things are gonna get better.

Even if you feel like you can’t put yourself together

or feeling overwhelmed and under the weather,

Just write yourself a little note

that contains those five words that all together has 23 letters

And hopefully you can prove to yourself that

Things are gonna get better.

I am a 10th grader that wishes to pursue her dreams of becoming a therapist. I am a very happy sociable friendly teenager, and I hope posting my poems on here gets me somewhere. Right now my poems are featured in a magazine called Penpal Connection. Even though my poems seem to be depressing, I hope people my age relates to them.
