The Things I Hear

Sticks and stones may break my bones but because of words, they will never hurt me.

A verse, a line, a sentence, a phrase it is the power of the things I hear every day.

Deep and inspirational.

Simple and Kind.

No matter the content it warms my heart and soothes my mind.

It takes away those butterflies.

You know, their overwhelming power.

The way they beat all around your stomach causing you to stutter and question why you even came in the first place, leaving your head spinning for hours upon hours.

But with a simple statement all the pain will go away.

Thanks to Buddha, Gandhi, and even some wise words from Leonardo DiCaprio there's no more spinning.

No more overwhelming emphasis on winning.

Just the simple pleasure of being.

Being here.

Being still.

Being lifted to a strange new world.

A world with only hellos and no goodbyes, where the weak stand tall with the strong and there are no wrongs.

Only differences.

It's good to be different.

And that phrase is reassuring, isn't it?
