Things I Never Planned

I never expected to fall in love,

But I can never say that it was a mistake.

Loving you was a river during spring.

Loving you was gentle as a mother's touch,

It held the beauty of a rose but the pain of a thorn.

I thought the end wouldn't come so soon,

That was until loving you was like a hurricane.

Sitting in a storm begging for it to end,

Then again you don't want the love to end.

Because at the end of a storm there is a rainbow.

There is a peek of sunlight,

A glimmer of hope.

We just couldn't find it,

We got lost in the storm.

Pulled apart by the winds,

But not put together the same.

It's just gonna be different,

But until we see that rainbow

I know we won't be the same.
