Things I Wish I Would Have Noticed
Do not go on a boundless expedition in search of a contemporary version of self. We, as a whole, are unaccustomed to relishing in our own skin. Civilization prescribes self amending potions, laced with abjection and competence. Roaming in foreign grime will present abrupt panic instincts. Rather than disregard your being into a tomb of blindness, observe the constant idiosyncrasies in modern situations. How eyelids vibrate in the slight presence of darkness. How hands unquestionably recoil at the warmth of another being. How stomaches spasm in the presence of one’s enticing, fiery, eyes. How hearts plunge into the fluorescence of another’s vitality. How mouths falter in the presence of meaning. How the psyche pits against itself. How the pen ceases to maneuver as rapidly as mentality expires. Do not embark on an ample crusade to discover a state-of-the-art ego. Bask in the exclusiveness. Sunbathe in the rim of conscience. Love in the company of hostility. See the eternal cities of your spirit…and if there is no city to be seen, dig through the cinders and establish what once was. Nothing is ever genuinely ravaged. You are never truly ravaged.
