things to say

i’ve got things to say

But i’ll save them for Sunday

The only day i can think

My mind only goes that one way

i’ve got phrases and words

And pictures and chords

Stashed away in this box

A guitar I can’t afford

A future unwritten

The school chair i sit in

The news on tv

My grandmother’s kitchen

i am incomplete

Silent voice, my defeat

Like that one class i retook

Geometry

Who are you to assume

My mouth is my tomb

While you, a silent pawn’s

Knees tremble as i bloom
