Of things unknown; they did not say
Of things unknown; they did not say
The idea is flawed and the way it's paved
Such a wondrous lie, the prettiest of tales
Tell me again of the this dainty betrayal
"Endure and strive"
—Undoubtedly heard
"Persist in dreams!"
Oh come, come now
"Patience, hard work and impenetrable resolve"
How to accomplish dreams and all
Wrapping up the lie with the frilliest of bows
Bathed in the rays of children's shows
Hard work always pays off they say
And then the little midget girl made it to the WNBA
Remove that crinkle from your brow
Blame the disservice of a lie allowed
It is the lies!
No deceit—ignorance of a lesson never learned
Now shall we alter the lie, perhaps add a degree of realism?
No!
For realistic dreams too crash and burn leaving the bitter ashes of scorched dreams to flutter in the wind of Disappointment
And yet—
Of things unknown; they did not say
I am happier for the loss than ever the gain
The measure of happiness
Not in success
In the action of being happy despite Of
Through undeterred stress and failure
Unacknowledged
Happiness was mine
Pain and Loss
Failure I was
And though I have failed
I am happy
I have succeeded
