the things that were never meant to happen

You told me not to smile, but to cry

at our nearly inevitable demise.

As if you thought deep down...that I did not care?

That I would not cry?

Beyond the masks that we plaster on our faces

and the person suits that we zip up so tight,

you could not see mine, or other people's, true intentions?

Do you not know that the way we act is not natural, not normal to our nature?

Are you really still so blind?

Or were you telling me that this too, hurts you?

We make our own family, and you are mine.

I wish I could tell you to not think otherwise.
