The Things You Do

You walk all over me like I’m a pile of dirt. Have you ever just thought I might be hurt? The way you give me that fake little smile Makes me wonder is it even worthwhile? I often wonder if we’re even friends Or are you just another one of those pretends? When you want something you come straight to me. Is there a reason why I should agree? I’m not your first choice and sometimes not you’re last But does that give you the right to base me off my past? I’m a human being just like you. Why do you continue to treat me like I’m two? I can fight my battles all by myself. Could you please stop treating me like I’m a book on a shelf? You come to me when you need a hand. What am I, your piece of land? I wish you could see what you’ve been doing all along. Don’t you realize that it’s just all wrong? If I’m not there for you in the end, Just remember I tried to be your friend.
