The things you have done

Thank God for those of us who don’t remain voiceless

when the rights we deserve

are crushed to pieces

a country founded by oppression

we still see it all around us

the black man is shot

that woman knows shit

but here we are,

with our first world problems

an iphone 6, but damn God if its cracked

Our world is ugly

the 100s of 1000s of girls that will be enslaved into the illegal sex ring this year

imagine the pressure they hold on the curves of their bodies

the same curves that have brought them to be raped, and then slaughtered

You and I, well we hold the weight of the atmosphere on our backs

but they have a natural instinct for survival,

you fight and you fight, but he is just too strong,

all you can do is give up, let go

your body stops fighting back

the hopelessness in your mind gives you permission

and there you are with 14.7 lbs/sq. in of pressure you can no longer hold

so you just give in

we are in a constant state of being told what to do

the commercials fill our brains, only two days more!

but walmart needs you, for that's how life works

money is power, and human nature takes it course

our will for survival is back yet again

but this time with greed, and oh so much more!

organic, who cares!?

cheap is the answer, we hear from our parents

but think about what that means,

stand up for what’s right

it’s natural to rebell

enjoy your life

don’t be afraid to break the rules

these are the times to mess up

you don’t have to worry about what your life will mean

but everything relies on how well you are doing

collage, a job, the rest of your life

when will the lies stop circling around my head,

when will the voices shut up, just for a second

or should I say the time it takes for Mars to circle the sun

a giant body that defies us all,

we fucked up our planet, we did what we've done

but now we can't face the mistakes, we just want to have fun

you always told me to face my fears, reverse the wrongs, but here you are trying to escape

the things you have done

we have to find a way to make it work, we can't just sing, and hope it all works

the formulas are there for a reason

a squared. plus b sq…. well of course that is c sq.

but creativity is key, don't follow the norm,

be who you are, not what you have done

your welcome to be who you want to be

of course if your skin color is dark form the hours of time you spent under the sun

good luck with the hardships you are to face,

a bullet flies forward before you can raise

your arms above your head

raise em like you just don’t care, for you are who you want to be

not what the universe tells you to be

you love a man, a woman, no one?

well then good for you

but the people will still vote no on the issue they don't know

weather it be GMOs or the laws of lost causes,

we live in a world,  we live in a country

democracy, the ability for you to have a say on what goes on around you

but we all know that companies with power rule our world,

and it is just that way

money is power

and power is money

but what about love, and what about fate

go live on a private island with your hate

there are people living under the illusion that they are in control of their lives

if you work hard, you can fly

but what about that poor mexican child, who has worked 18 back breaking shifts to be paid 5 dollars an hour,

do you think he can rise up? does he have the power?

right wing conservatives tell him he's not worthy

of living in a country where what he loves is in a place where people assume he is not...

worthy of course, because we all know you're not worthy

but I’m worth it, or didn’t you know, baby I'm worth it

you can all have a show,

we don't care if you dance on a pole, it doesn't make you a hoe

but that shirt that hugs your curves

oh hell no, you don't get to tell me I can't speak my mind,

I'll say what I want, when your dress like you do

you give me the right to throw hate in my words as I tear you down,

thought a college degree made you as good as me?

lucky for you I just don't have the time,

next time you will find, your up next in line

a world founded by oppression,

the minority needs to stand up

you don’t need to listen to the people that control you

but when the face of your evil is genetically stronger than you are,

you don’t have a choice,

a world founded by oppression,

how many times do we see the news article titled

another black man dies

at the hands of a racist,

we claim to be liberal, but who has the time

to look for the clues that show we are who we say

a clock keeps ticking, all through the night

we break the chains, and we break our backs, looking for a way to get out of our tiny world that seems to be the universe

we are what we eat, at least that's what the stereotype shows, a bunch of fat, lazy, fools, with diabetes two,

but our brains are reduced to the rush of the high, as dopamine tells us we are fine

we asked ourselves, to be?

is anything really worth it,

or not to be,

you see that is the question

the question that hangs on the back of that poor kid you called fat, a fag,

god knows what you said

for we never really check to make sure our words will have the right meanings,

but then when they do?

the world is surprised by what you held inside,

an insecure, immature child, that’s who was suppose to be all bottled up

not a strong young person, dressed in black

our wisdom surprises them all, we take in their words, and have finally come to realize that they can be wrong

damn wrong in fact,

see I can succeed, understand, comprehend, but also have fun, kick back, relax,

you think I'm too young, too naive to know what the world holds in store,

but have you ever wondered whether you're wrong?

See we are the champions, the ones who can see that you're nothing but jealous for who you used to be,

why give up the dream to change our world?

although I have the pressure of the atmosphere pushing down on my back

and the endless judgments, criteria, numbers, and expectations holding me down,

I'm able to fight, and stand proud,

for I am who I want to be,

we are who we are, through the actions we take,

a world full of people who follow directions, and have a mind full of small insignificant factors,

the music swirls, the music whirls,

they influence our views, our judgments, the works

but then who knows where your opinions stop, and your idols begin,

for what is life but not to be in awe of those who are better, thinner, wiser, more beautiful

one two three, you can count on me

five, six, seven, eight, sashay- keep your back straight,

let the music control you body as you grind with the faceless guy behind you to the beat of this worthless shit

we call music

rap music filled with words of hate

they want freedom, but what about the others

the women who were forced to be mothers

to bad they gave up on the world.
