Thinking Back

the nights are so long and lonely.
the days so cold and dark.
living day to day with a broken heart.
I often wonder,how and why
I still feel this pain, and have tears left to cry.
I'm dealing with a lot, but I still manage to put on a smile.
I've accomplished a lot, but I haven't felt right in a while.
when I think back; i relive and feel the agony of my past.
i try not to reminisce because that's when i remember of the regrets.
counting my losses, and taking hold to what I have left.
and moving on.
trying so hard to keep my head up.
waiting for the rain to let up.
