Thinking back

As I look back through the years ,

I can still see that smile up on your face ,

Even doe you are no longer here ,

I must keeping going with everything in me ,

I must fight another day ,

I must walked with my head held high ,

I must not loose sights ,

Of my dreams ,

I must overcome my fears ,

I must redo all my mistakes & make them right ,

It’s gonna take time ,

I now realize that ,

So I’m get up off my feet ,

& get to work ,

Tomorrow is a better day ,

Today is a new day ,

I love you my sweet father ,

Oh how I miss your calls ,

Your text especially those good morning texts ,

You used to be mad when I didn’t answer my phone ,

& now I understand why ,

All you wanted was for me to check in ,

All you wanted was to know that I was safe & doing okay …

You love me no matter what I have done ,

You cared when nobody didn’t ,

Oh how I miss my father ,

You was truly my hero ,

Blood couldn’t make you any different you was prefect & every way ,

I miss my father ,

As I look back through the years …
