Third-Class Citizen

I watched them grow,

From baby to child,

Then child to (young) adult.

Yet they treat me like a third class citizen.

I cook,

For you.

I clean,

For you.

I wash,

For you.

I nurture,

YOU.

Yet I’m barely respected.

I had passions,

I had desires,

I had dreams!

And I gave it all up for you.

Yet I’m a third class citizen.

Living in a home,

Where without me,

The order,

The normality,

And the love in this house would be gone.

You might as well be dead.
