Third Person
Sweaty palms
Constraints all on my arms
Blindfolded
Hearing opinions of minutes soon to come
The crowd calms
The administer clears his throat
*clears throat*
Pulled out a yellow paper and spoke
The officer put out his smoke ,
Then I heard the warden say ,
It is to my witness that this man is gonna die today
I took a deep breath
Thought to myself
Lord I know I'm wrong , but if you hear me I could use ya help
A weary cry
The witnesses all mutter
Egging the disturbance the lady began to stutter
Staggering through the aisles
Chairs clanging in the clutter
She took a breath
They all took a step into a huddle
Suspense filled the room
Everybody gave a ear
The lady slurred her name
But her business she stated clear
"7 years" , she proclaimed
Pointed a finger , in its aim
Was me
Sustained in disbelief
The pain in her voice
Became relevant to my defeat
In repeat went the evidence
in my mind
Hopping back and forth between reasoning and oblige
I was blind , filling her every line
Wid pictures in my head
Giving images to my mind
And overtime , I put a face wid her misery
Crying out to God knowing he still ain't hearing me
She spitting on my face
Smelled liquor from her seat
She had been beat
Listening to rain
Middle of the night
Looking to ease her pain
From the window pane
She say he always used to sleep dea
Shadows in the night from da lights he put upin his ear
A gun and some cash was found upin his gear
On the 2nd Saturday her man disappeared
I was wid Will , shooting dice wid his uncle , and his cousin Bill
Chilling , smoking purp
Side betting , on the phone
Talkin prices wid Jimmy
He wanna score a whole zone
Look just bring 125 , and it's good
I could match dat
10-4 big brudda
You da jays
I'm da SnapBack
Looked over my shoulder
Bill klutching got it snapped back
Put it in Ronny face like get outta place you could get cha neck snapped back
Nobody moved
Everybody was cautious
Somebody jacked Bill
And he wasn't taking no losses
Arguing over numbers
Bill just lemme roll again
Hollin you trippin billy you only get the 10
Tellem Rooster , didn't you bet the 8?
When I rolled 6 , didn't you bet the 8?
Scratched my head in disposition , Ronny I was on da phone
Just lettem roll it over , he prolly had counted wrong
No ima get my money or you just won't make it home
I was side betting
How you throw me in da cross ?
Mad , waving yo pistol cause yo broke tail loss
Yo issue wid lit Ronny
Boy dont get cha salad tossed
You grew up wid all bruddas
You know what my ppl bout
Chill , what's going on
mama screaming from da house
Bill put down da gun
Baby we could talk it out
Shots started firing
He wastede Ronny first
Put a hole up in his chest
I seen it bleeding through his shirt
As he relifted his weapon
I hit em den I tackled him
Took da gun out his hand
Got up and started capping him
Heard my mama scream
Call da ppl
So I fled da scene
Grabbed the money put it in the pocket of my bloody jeans
Drove hours to dump the gun
Police thought it was a drive by
Cold case
Opened back up July 2009
Got a call from mama
She say that the ppl naggin her
Comin everyday lookin for business just to ask her for
Don't change the story
Tellem everything cool ,
I got a job at the plant ,
and I'm lookin forward to school
You know I got chu , I'm yo only real friend
Mama you know I know , eversince drakey hit da pen
Oh yeah , he sent a letter , go ahead pick up a pen ,
Ima call you if they come back over snooping roun again
Bet
Hung up the phone at 11:35
On da way to score some zoes from a youngin name Ty
I met em at McDonalds
He oredered a small fry
Put his Ruger on his lap
And proceeded on with the buy
I undered him the money
Inquired bout the supply
He got up from the booth
Looked left and winked his eye
I uped my rod and walked behind em
Put the tool to his back
Swear to God if you scheming
Ima lay ya down flat
He started to laugh turned around and tipped his hat
Click clack boom
All his brains went splat
I tried to dig out
A lady caught me in my tracks
Wid a gun up to my head
Guided my hands behind my back
Threw me in a car windows tinted painted all black
7 years ago
That's when it all came back
Ronny had a cousin name Gaven
Dey call em Guy
Doing 10 upin Angola
He twin to da youngin Ty
Dat 2nd Saturday
Me and Ronny was pose to die
Me and Gaven fell out over connecting wid supply
Gaven got pulled over
He thought we set him up
Ronny gave em keys to his ole lady Angel truck
They got into it later
him and Angel had broke up
she said the truck was stolen
And Gaven got hemmed up
Angel tried to grab me
The officer ran over
Grabbed her by her arm and then took her by her shoulder
Tears falling from my eyes
Hoping I die a soldier
Hearing Angel scream
Lord please make him over
He was trippin he wasn't sober
He wouldn't have pulled da trigga if he knew about the
Her voice fades
Exiting the premises
Pondering in my mind what could finish off her sentences
I never understood the real meaning of innocence
Angels are never angels
Make up covers all their blemishes
We all got a demon
Waiting , active or dormant
Just like we got a purpose
Chosen for us or appointed
Never got to see mine
Mama said I was anointed
Funny now how I'm thinking I coulda ended my life
10 years ago I put my neck up to a knife
But God started talking and shot me some kinda light
Though I was living wrong
I was tryna live right
But here I am today
Strapped down to a chair
Steady talkin to God
Beseeching him for his ear
Ion feel his presence
But I'm praying dat he here
Sober , cold , and lonely
Were the nights upin cell
Dey wanna put me in the ground
I was more miserable there
Stomach up to heaven
Ironic that I'm in hell
The doctor lifts up my sleeve
Last breath I inhale
Looking over my life
And what ended me up in jail
Thinking bout my mama and youngest brother Kardell
The minister said a prayer
Facetiously wish me well
On my journey to hell
Closing my eyes wishing God a caught me fo I fell
I repent
The last words to break the seal of my lips
The needle broke my skin
Clenched jaws
Feeling the repercussions of my sin
Mad that I left so much business w/o a end
But they ain't understand
All I needed was a friend
Now I'm up in heaven wit Ronny watching over all of my kin
The only difference between death by lethal injection and the pen
