This is For

This is For

This is for me

If it helps someone else great,

But this is mine

This is for the girls who scared me,

For the dreams that impaired me,

For the lack of love that I didn't feel

Because I choose not too

I forgive you

This is for the people that held my demons over my head

The people that rejected me because of my past,

For the people that wrote me off because of my intensity

I forgive you

This is for the people who laughed behind my back

Because they are afraid to laugh in my face.

This is for the people who wouldn't accept my help

Because they were afraid of me.

I forgive you

This is for the people whose words I hated more than running,

For the stories they created, the things they made up.

For the misunderstandings, and mistaken comments taken out of context

I forgive you

This is for those who thought they were helping me,

But whose actions only hurt me.

For the times of rage

And the times of fear,

I forgive you

This is for the boy who was afraid of the girls who chased him

Because he didn't want to get coddies.

This is for the boy who let what others think of hum

Dictate who he was

I forgive you

This is for the boy who held unto his demons

Far too long.

This is for the boy who opened up too much

I forgive you

For the boy who wiped away a girl's tears

Knowing it wasn't to last

For the boy who lied to everyone about what he was

And what he was doing

I forgive you

For the boy who wanted so badly to become a man

That he missed his childhood.

For all of the mistakes that he made.

I forgive you

For how he looks at women

Nothing more than pleasure to him

I forgive you

And for not reaching this conclusion sooner

That forgiveness will help you move on

I forgive you

I guess in the end it's all about learning to forgive myself

I forgive me
