Thorns

Forgive me for being completely

oblivious to your existence

Its just the short time we spent

together wasn't the most

memorable

True, your crimson flowers

add some spice to the awkward

patch where I planted you

but now your fat thorns are everywhere

I think you meant something

for my mom and I at one point

but now,

your unruly stems are a nuisance

So forgive me

for ignoring you,

and your red buds

and your thorny thorns
