Those Days
Those days
You know them
When there are groups of 3, 4, 5
And yet there you are
Alone
Hidden in plain sight
A one man show
On the inside,
There are tears
There are questions
"Why aren't I good enough?"
"What about me?"
"Why can't I be like them?"
On the outside,
Smiles
Laughs
Pretend
As if life was supposed to be one huge dollhouse
Plastic actors in a plastic world living plastic lives
As if you weren't unraveling at the very moment you comforted a friend
As if you weren't always tired
Tired of trying to be a part of that group
Tired of comforting
Tired of caring
Tired of living
"I'm just tired, don't worry"
