"Those Four Words"

Every night when I rested my head I prayed for you.

I prayed for a connection, and not just one that would link us together, but rather one that would bind us closer

I have dripped so many tears, every waterfall and every body of water would be jealous

But you came and acted as a barrier

You came and showed me that sadness no longer has to be an emotion, but only complete and utter happiness does

I no longer rest my head at night and pray for your arrival

You have already parked your car and established you weren’t driving off anytime soon

I thank you. Every day of my life I thank you

I thank you so much for going beyond those four words

For making me see myself, know myself, and most importantly find myself

I was so lost with no direction to lead me

I was walking so blindly while hearing those misleading words

“Because I Love You” should be said because your infatuation over me urges you to want to love me eternally

In a wholesome relationship you should become my third eye

My vision should be so clear that I can see a future. Hopefully one that has you in it

Every night when I rest my head I see you so I no longer have to pray

You became me and together you and me became we
