For those in need
No one can pretend we know what you're going through.
The least we can do is lend a hand.
It's a lot worse than anyone could have imagined.
All the dead.
All the left living without them.
Natural disasters are natural, aren't they?
Yet why do they feel so surreal?
So aberrant
So disastrous
So
Speechless
At a loss for comforting words to lend
Only tears are able to be shed for this
This unpreventable instance
That decimated homes
Destroyed lives
Changed the fates of too many people for not a good enough reason.
This never bothered me.
I could watch entire towns get atomically bombed and not blink.
Yet reading about these tiny, insignificant lives in my own country get crushed..
It consumes me.
It threatens my sanity and makes me question my own existence.
I not only sympathize with them.
I feel like I am one of them.
I know I can't know what they feel
The undeterminable feeling of something you can't get back
Like the children
Like the security of a house.
It's all gone for them.
Hundreds of people.
The dead. The living. It doesn't matter who's who when the living feel like they are among the dead.
But when you don't realize that today a tornado or tsunami could come and wipe you out at the blink of an eye… life isn't hard to live.
Anything could happen to anyone at any moment.
Destruction is around every corner.
Make the most of it now.
