Those simple little things
It’s those little things I always think about;
That make you stand out.
The way you say my name,
The way you play this game,
The way you talk,
And even the way you walk.
Your love for simplicity,
Oh gosh! It's crazy.
Stairs, school buses, sports.
Simple, Simple, Simple!
Your simplicity amazes me.
But you’re the key.
Brass in color, shinny in part.
Come, let me use you
To unlock my heart.
It's banging, it may break through.
Love is selfless,
Yet I am selfish.
Dark eyes and hair,
Tall in stature.
When my eyes lay upon you,
Like a butterfly on air,
My heart beats for you.
With all your care I feel a scare.
I'm scared you'll leave me.
It makes my heart ache.
I'm scared to feel the way I do.
Maybe we should bid adieu.
One day you may realize
You deserve a better prize
But it's in all these little things,
I know it's you.
When I dream, I imagine wondrous things.
And when I wake, wanting them to be true,
I realize I have it.
I have everything;
I have you.
Love, simply defined,
a deep feeling of affection.
When all the stars are aligned,
and point in my direction,
Then I’ll know--
I’ll know if this is real.
My heart is racing
A million miles a minute.
I can feel it,
But why can’t I say it?
If it’s true, and I know it is true,
I’m in love you.
