Of Those Who Have Fallen

Look at the rows straight and tall.
Look at the rows of those who fall.
Perfectly in line,
Who were readied at their battle line.

Some gave all, but all gave some.
Those fallen at their battle line,
Although laid to rest, remain in their perfect line,
Awaiting orders from our sergeant above.

I write this with heartbreak
As I say goodbye to the
Loved one of mine
Who joined the perfect line on March 24th, 2014.
Who readied himself at his battle line,
And took his last breath on March 11th, 2014.
