Those Words I Couldn’t Say

Dear Sydney,

Out there,

I’d be bare,

Stripped down, naked,

A silhouette, faded.

Can’t you understand?

It is like quicksand,

Every thought, situation, I ponder

Slips away, I squander.

I’m a sham,

I’m not sure of who I am,

A slave to a world that might never come,

One day I might just succumb.

When I break down my wall,

Will I crumble and fall?

Or will you give me a hand?

And we’ll walk towards the Promised Land.

I am writing this letter,

Hoping that I can be better,

And tell you those Words

I couldn’t say:

I’m gay
