The Thought

And then I thought that maybe,

just maybe,

I had gotten him to fall in love with me

and the thought of that made me smile in spite of myself

and I felt as if I had won a great prize-

one even bigger than top athletes train their whole lives for-

and if you think about it,

to me,

I had.
