Thoughts

I am tired from life

Holding heavy expectations

And pressures

Like a race

I’m trying to win

But I am unaware of how

Lost and confused

I struggle as everyone passes

My mind

Gets the best of me

And I think

I think and wonder

And ponder

And what else?

What else is there to do?

Is there a point in all of this?

There must be a point

Even a pencil has a point

There has to be one

Underneath the screens

Underneath the masses of people

Blinded by

The wrong type of light

We are drifting

From our true purpose

And instead we find comfort

In technology

And a web of lies

Spun by the people we trust

How did it come to this?

We are abandoning

The promises made

To our mother nature

Ruining the fruits of her labor

We are forgetting

Of the lessons learned over time

Have we really overcome

Diseases and wars and disasters

To be wiped out by our own hands?

I refuse to believe this

I don’t accept

This bleak reality

No, there has to be a purpose

In the fires and shootings

In the debts and plagues

And the wars and fights

There has to be

There has to be

There has to be
