Thoughts

Walking through a field of radiant flowers
Observing the full autumn trees that tower
Little critters hop on by
All the way down to the riverside
The ground becomes a blanket beneath
As I lay down and begin to feel free
Shining brighter than ever is the sun
I glance towards it and my mind starts to run
Away and away with careless thoughts
Of all the good things life has brought
Thought after thought
I now see what I’ve sought
For life to be easy if only if only
To be filled with these thoughts and these thoughts only
No worries, no troubles, no harm
Nothing to ever cause alarm
No regrets, no mistakes, and no hate
Never thinking that it’s too late
But what would life be with only these things?
Life would be, just merely a dream
Because struggles and troubles make us all grow
And worries and regrets aren’t just for show
We are always changing in a world that changes too
And thought after thought they all seem to be new
Constantly rushing into our heads
And keeping us awake when we lie down for bed
But suddenly I feel a bird on my shoulder
Chirping away as the day grows older
I stand up and begin to walk away
And popping into my head is my next thought of the day.
