Thoughts After the Storm

I am Victorious.

I can overcome these darker days that cut my mind and bleed out my dreams.

I will find my life support and flourish in the real life world, outside my cracked skull

and function like someone who has never seen a knife that they knew would harm them.

I will stand up amongst sitters.

I will make my way through the crowd and press my presence to be known before the judge.

I will announce the gospel of my truth.

Empty faces may stare with blank eyes, but something like a time bomb will tick in

their minds, urging, warning them to wake up and hear my song that I will be

screaming from the top of my lungs

-to them it is still a faded feather of a whisper.

I shall rise from those days were I could not fathom a thought to begin to drag myself out of bed.

Or the times where I thought cramming pills down my throat would choke my sense

long enough to stop my fingers from grasping at the rope around my neck.

No

I will soar.

Let the ones who know what bullets taste like speak my name, and theirs louder.

Let us then keep our bullets, for we consider the exit wounds of others.

We will build our empire back from its roots with iron and steal-

there, on the seas of strength we created with our own two hands.

And then, then we can finally say

We lived Victorious.
