Thoughts on the Afterlife

A little birdy came to me one day, She told me of things that I'd never dreamt, Of long lost loves and giant fields of play, Gardens as beautiful as they're unkempt. In turn, my anger did suddenly grow. "No such heaven did e'er exist!" I cried. "Life is hell and we are all doomed below, As no man did ascend after he died!" For years we two discussed our lives' meanings, Both convinced of the other's delusion. So by the time we had reached our evenings, Neither of us had reached a conclusion And yet, in the end, for naught was the fight, For when my time came, twas only the night.

Hello, I'm Diwash! Yes, that's my real name! No, that's probably not how you pronounce it, but good on you for trying! My life is a cake recipe created from a dash of early mid-life crises, a sprinkle of vague discontent towards society, and a pinch of wanderlust thrown in for good measure. I enjoy Netflix, long walks on the beach, and strained metaphors. Also poems, if you haven't noticed.
