Thoughts and Dreams
Thoughts and dreams consume me
and all I want is to be free,
to fly high above the clouds in touch with the heavens
is all I truly want.
And so I think of how easy it would be to give up on life,
to sail the heavens forever by the tip of this knife.
Finally all my troubles flee
at the thought of death's cold embrace.
But after the pain I have endured,
that touch would feel warmly contoured
and all the hell I have been put through physically
is nothing compared to my tortured insides.
